Decreasing Your Business’s Negative Environmental Impact

August 6, 2021November 22, 2021 by Denna Cole

Chances are if you’re reading this article you are interested in making your business more eco-friendly. It’s no secret that eco-friendly products and services are becoming more popular and necessary. If you own or work at an auto shop, you may be looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly. If that’s the case here are some tips to make your shop eco-friendlier!

How can you make your shop more “green?” Here’s some solutions you can begin implementing:

  • To lessen chemicals seeping into the ground, minimize the use of liquid chemicals to clean and instead utilize dry clean-up practices
  • Use reusable mops or sponges instead of throw-away absorbent materials (like kitty litter) and make sure any throw-away materials are properly disposed of
  • Order commonly used supplies in bulk
  • Use non-toxic products when possible
  • Use refillable spray containers instead of disposable
  • Recycle non-reusable containers
  • Monitor electric and water bills for ways to improve your usage – this can save you money and resources
  • Use energy-efficient light bulbs and turn off lights and appliances when not in use
  • Reduce paper usage by using MechanicNet Cloud CRM
